HANDS Advanced Boundaries Training
Duration: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Course Description:
HANDS Boundaries Training focuses on the origin of personal and professional boundaries including family of origin experience and cultural expectations. Participants will explore personal and workplace values that impact establishing and maintaining boundaries within their program, team and relationship with families. Participants will be given opportunities to learn about boundary violations common to family support workers and will practice strategies to employ when encountering these situations. Establishing clear and consistent boundaries is important for self-care and allows HANDS employees, both professional and paraprofessional, to maintain positive relationships with the families they serve. Consistent and healthy workplace boundaries encourage strong teams. This course seeks to improve the professional leadership qualities of the HANDS nurses and social workers who work in supervisory capacities as they lead their staff using the parallel process.
